We're Katie and Joe, a married couple of queerdos who make art together. Earlier this year we attended the 2024 International Cryptozoology Conference in Portland, Maine. As longtime Bigfoot, Jersey Devil, and Mothman enthusiasts, we were super excited to learn more about our favorite cryptids—and you know we had to make a zine and record about the experience, too.

So here you have it: a 24-page, pleasingly square zine comprised of diary entries, monster drawings, reports on what we learned from the lecturers at the conference, and sidebars full of cryptid facts. The front and back covers are risographed printed on cardstock in a range of colors. (We’ll surprise you with the color!)

The record contains music by our improvisational noise band, assholeknife, which consists of Katie, Joe, and Chris Baldys. We recorded ourselves live making noisy music that includes Joe’s spot-on Bigfoot calls. We then created the record using the vintage record making lathes in our home studio.
