For our new VHS to Vinyl Bootleg Soundtrack series, we’re creating our own movie soundtracks by digitizing the audio of a movie straight from VHS and breaking it up into our own tracks. The resulting records are part soundtrack, part fan-art: weird musical artifacts that contain song snippets, bits of dialogue, and lots of cool sounds taken straight from the film. This and all other lathe records in our shop were created in our home studio using vintage record making lathes from the early 1900s. This release contains a score created for Female Vampire on one side, and one created for Godzilla vs. Megalon on the other. All songs included were created using audio samples ripped directly from a VHS copy of each movie.
