The Dark Crystal, VHS to Vinyl Bootleg Soundtrack

For our VHS to Vinyl Bootleg Soundtrack series, we create our own movie soundtracks by digitizing the audio of movies straight from VHS and breaking it up into our own tracks. The resulting records are part soundtrack, part fan-art: weird musical artifacts that contain song snippets, bits of dialogue, and lots of cool sounds taken straight from the film.

This release contains a score created for the 1982 dark fantasy drama The Dark Crystal. All songs included were created using audio samples ripped directly from a VHS copy of each movie. Sides C and D also contain the audio from The Dark Crystal Read-Along book released in 1983, originally available only on cassette.
